En route pour la côte sud estOn our way to the south est coast

Nous sommes en route vers l'Est américain et la Floride. Nous sommes partis le samedi 26 décembre, et il faisait nuageux et frais, mais pas de neige. En route, nous sommes arrêtés près de Harrisburg, pour visiter l’usine de chocolat Hershey. Nous avons couché au Casino Hollywood. Nous avons aussi fait une mini-visite au parc de Gettysburg, là où il y a eu une grosse bataille de la guerre civile. La gazoline se vend entre $1.77 et $1.98 le gallon et plus on va dans le sud plus le prix diminue. Cette semaine, nous sommes arrêtés pour coucher à deux Walmart, un casino et trois terrains de camping : North River Campground près d'Elizabeth City NC (très beau 5*), et Lake Aire RV près de Charleston SC (beaucoup de boue 3*). Hardeeville RV près de Savannah GA (très beau 5*) Nous avons aussi visité le Wright Brothers National Memorial, où les frères Wright ont fait voler leur 1er avion, et le Jockey's Ridge State Park. On trouve dans ce parc les plus hautes dunes dans l'est des États-Unis, 80-100 pieds de haut. Avec des sentiers dans le sable. On a visité le plus haut phare fait de brique aux États-Unis soit 208 pi. Ceci est sur une péninsule appelée The Outer Banks près d'Elizabeth City. Nous avons visité la belle ville de Charleston et aussi la plantation "Magnolia Plantation and Gardens". Nous avons visité les cabanes des esclaves,la maison luxueuse de la plantation et les beaux jardins. Nous avons aussi visité la belle ville de Savannah GA.  A Savannah, on retrouve beaucoup de belles grosses maisons d'époques qui ont été restaurées. Nous visitons aussi la cathédrale de St John de Baptist et plusieurs parcs dans la ville. Nous nous sommes promenés dans le Savannah Wildlife Refuge près du camping. Sur l'ile Tybee, nous arrêtons pour marcher dans le Fort Pulaski, lieu historique dans la guerre civile. Sur notre route, on a vu un homme qui dormait sur sa motocyclette pendant qu'il attendait que la circulation passe. Nous avons aussi vue plusieurs champs du culture de cotton. Près de New Bern NC, on a vu un système de ponts extraordinaires. Ces ponts avec des soties et entrées qui s’entrecroisent au-dessus de la rivière.

We are on our way to the eastern US and Florida. We left Saturday, December 26, and it was cloudy and cool, but no snow. We stopped near Harrisburg, visiting the Hershey chocolate factory. We slept at the Casino Hollywood. We also did a mini-tour in Gettysburg Park, where there was a big Civil War battle. Gasoline sells for between $ 1.77 and $ 1.98 a gallon and the further south we go,the lower the price decreases. This week, we stopped for the night at two Walmart, a casino and three campgrounds: North River Campground near Elizabeth City, NC (beautiful 5 *), Lake Aire RV near Charleston SC (lots of mud 3 * ) and Hardeeville RV near Savannah GA (beautiful 5 *) We also visited the Wright Brothers National Memorial, where the Wright brothers flew their first plane, and Jockey's Ridge State Park. This park has the highest dunes in the eastern United States, 80-100 feet high. It also has trails for miles in the sand. We also visited the highest lighthouse made of brick at 208 ft in the United States. This is on a peninsula known as The Outer Banks near Elizabeth City. We visited the beautiful city of Charleston and also the "Magnolia Plantation and Gardens." We entered the huts where the slaves were living, the luxurious plantation house and the beautiful gardens. We also visited the beautiful city of Savannah, GA. In Savannah, there are many beautiful big houses that have been restored. We also visited the Cathedral of St John Baptist and several parks in the city. We walked in the Savannah Wildlife Refuge near the camp site. On the Tybee Island, we stopped and walked around Fort Pulaski, a historic site in the Civil War. On our way, we saw a man who was sleeping on his motorcycle while he waited for traffic to pass. We have also seen several fields of cotton being cultivated. Near New Bern NC, we saw a system of extraordinary bridges. These bridges with exits and entries that intersect above the river.
